The Dorset Health Hub has some extra money to work with
That’s because the Deep Freeze fundraiser was able to bring in $23,000 to be split down the middle between the hub and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
The fundraiser, which had a target of $20,000, saw 14 people sleep in frozen huts last week.
Colin Reaney sits on the board for the Dorset Community Partnership Fund, which raises about a third of the hub’s money.
He says the goal of the Dorset Health Hub is to improve access to healthcare in remote areas.
Reaney says half of the hub’s patients come from Haliburton County while the other half is from Muskoka.
