Warden Suzanne Partridge dissapointed with province’s decision to reject funding application for repairs on Hawk Lake Bridge

Haliburton County Warden Suzanne Partridge says she is disappointed in a decision made by the province.

Partridge was referring to the government’s decision to deny an application for $1.7 million under the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund.

The money would have been used to assess and repair the Hawk Lake Bridge, which is approximately 100-years-old.

Partridge says one option is to draw from reserves but adds that waiting another year to apply again for funding is not an option.

Under the O.C.I.F. a total of $130 million was available this year for infrastructure projects in municipalities of 100,000 people or less.
