Four festivals in Haliburton County will be getting financial assistance from the province.

The money comes from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, which is meant to help event organizers support new initiatives as well as create jobs.

Two of the festivals receiving a grant under the Celebrate Ontario 2018 program are in Dysart et al.

The province will be contributing $17,625 towards the inaugural World Soap Hockey Championships in July, as well as Haliburton Drumfest in September, which gets $3,625.

Highlands East also learned it will receive $4,392 towards the Wilberforce Agricultural Fair, which is in August.

The Minden Hills Bluegrass Festival gets $6,500 and that’s coming up in July.
