County investing $10,000 in marketing video meant to attract workers to the area

Haliburton County will be spending $10,000 in an effort to bring more workers to the area.

The Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce made a presentation to county council last year asking for the money to produce a video showcasing the region as the ideal place to work and play.

Chamber Manager Autumn Wilson says the video link will be shared with employers to send out to perspective new recruits.

Wilson says the video will be geared towards a younger demographic.

According to Stats Canada, over 62 hundred people in the labour force in the county are between the ages of 45 and 64.

By comparison, under 25 hundred workers are between 25 and 44 years old.

Wilson adds the video will showcase more than the Haliburton economy.

Wilson wasn’t able to offer a time as to when the video will be available.

The video will be shot and produced by a local company.
