Minden Hills in considering cutting its landfill hours in half.

According to an environmental department report shown to the committee of the whole, the reduced hours would give the township savings of approximately $43,000 a year.

The report suggests the township test the reduced hours at the Scotch Line and Ingoldsby sites starting on May 1st.

Mayor Brent Devolin says he expects the township’s landfill operations to change.

Devolin adds Minden Hills has data on what days and hours the landfills and transfer stations are less busy.
