Highlands East agrees to contribute $1,000 towards Gooderham Music Festival

There could be some more entertainment for county residents and tourists this summer.

Highlands East council is throwing its support behind the Gooderham Music Festival with a $1,000 donation.

Details including when and where the festival will be, including performers, are not known at this time.

The group planning the event submitted its budget to council, and it forecasts a surplus of approximately $150.

The largest projected cost is $2,000 to bring in bands, while the group would try and recoup some of its expenses by attracting sponsors and advertisers.

Mayor Dave Burton says he is excited to work with the group and is hopeful the festival will be a huge success.
