Stanhope Airport won’t be delayed

Algonquin Highlands Reeve Carol Moffatt says construction of the Stanhope Airport won’t be delayed. MNR submitted a request to move one of the hangars because they were working with the wrong drawings, and didn’t have the right location of the current hangar construction.

Council discussed the issue at the July 17 council meeting and agreed to look into moving the hangar as long as MNR covered all the costs.

At a conference call on July 18, it was decided if the hangar does need to move, it won’t be done until next year and will not disrupt hangar tenants.

At the July 17 council meeting, engineer on the project, Mike Osborne said the project is right on schedule.
