The Minden Hills Fire Department says an organization soliciting funds has nothing to do with it.
Fire Chief Mike Bekking says a group has been approaching businesses asking for sponsorship for an event called Minden Fire Safety Saturday.
Bekking says he has gotten quite a few calls from residents asking if the township is involved with, or endorsing the event.
He tells the My Haliburton Now Dot Com Newsroom that the township and fire department is not affiliated with, or endorses, the event being put on by a group called Be A Safe Community.
Bekking said he has no problem with the group promoting its event but wanted residents to be aware this has nothing to do with the township.
A spokesperson from Be a Safe Community says the event will be at the S.G. Nesbitt Community Centre on April 21st.
