Ultrasound service hours being reduced at H.H.H.S.

Haliburton Highlands Health Services is reducing its ultrasound service hours. H.H.H.S. President and C.E.O. Carolyn Plummer told the board of directors last week the hours are being cut from 22.5 hours to 15 hours a week.

Plummer says the cut is due to a staffing shortage and that health services is trying to recruit a sonographer to operate the equipment for patients. She adds the service is able to continue in the county thanks to some temporary help from Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay.
