The Haliburton Highlands O.P.P. wants to remind motorists it’s keeping an eye out for marijuana. The O.P.P. had a check stop over the weekend by Hilltop Road on County Road 21 on Saturday.
Just before 10:30 that evening, a 19-year-old male from Dysart et al was stopped. After chatting with the suspect, the officer noticed a strong scent of marijuana.
The vehicle was searched and the O.P.P. seized a substance believed to be pot, along with other drug paraphernalia. The man was charged with procession of cannabis under 30 grams and will have a chance to defend himself in court on May 2nd.
