Three roads in Minden Hills could get surface treatment this year

Minden Hills could be doing some upgrades to three roads in the township. The township plans to do surface treatment on Tom Bolton Road, Lochlin Road, and Brady Lake Road. The cost of the work will be just over $206,000. Roads Superintendent Travis Wilson told Minden’s Committee of the Whole that the amount is included in the 2018 budget.

Wilson is also recommending that the contract be awarded to Miller Paving. The recommendation will be in front of council later this month and work timelines are likely to be established around then.

Road improvements are a big part of the township’s budget this year. The tax increase is over eight per cent with over 50 per cent of that due to increased spending in the roads department.
