MPP Laurie Scott to hold human trafficking awareness seminar in Haliburton

Laurie Scott is bringing her awareness campaign on human trafficking to Haliburton.

The Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MPP will be hosting a seminar at the Haliburton Community Room on Friday. Last year, a human trafficking victim services bill introduced by Scott named Saving The Girl Next Door was passed by the province. She says this is part of her continued effort to battle the spread of this crime.

Scott says parents can play a big role in protecting your children from becoming victims of this crime.

Scott will be joined by keynote speaker Simone Bell, who is a survivor of human trafficking. Representatives from the OPP and Kawartha Haliburton Victims services will be presenting as well. The seminar starts in the afternoon at one. You can register for the seminar here.
