Flood warning issued for parts of Haliburton area

The Crowe Valley Conservation Authority has issued a flood warning for parts of the area.

Flooding could already be happening in some waterways in parts of North Kawartha, Wollaston, Limerick, Tudor and Cashel, Faraday and Highlands East. The conservation authority says flows and levels in waterways will continue rising because of heavy rain over the last two days, along with a rapid snowmelt.  They are expected to keep going up over the next 24 to 48 hours.

General Manager Tim Pidduck it’s hard to know how serious the flooding could be.

Pidduck says it’s important for everyone to be safe and aware of their surroundings.

CVCA will continue monitoring the conditions, and will have an update by tomorrow. Pidduck says anyone with concerns can call the conservation authority at (613) 472-3137.
