A politician who has served on council for 47 years is seeking another term. Dysart et al Mayor Murray Fearrey says he submitted his nomination papers to the clerk, declaring his intention to seek re-election. When Fearrey won the 2018 election, he indicated that this would be his last term but says there are still some projects he wants to see through.

Fearrey adds the major project he wants to see to completion is the wood chip burning heat distribution facility. He also says one advantage he has is the number of contacts he has built up with upper levels of government, as well as the private sector.

The nomination period opened this week and any perspective mayoral or council candidate must file with their municipal office by June 27th.
