Over 5,500 homes are without power in the Algonquin Highlands area this morning.
Hydro One reports a thunderstorm that rolled through the county earlier this morning was the cause of the outage, although more details have not been given. The outage is affecting residents in Dorset, Hindon Hill and Russell Landing. Crews are working on the scene and the estimated restoration time is set for 8:15 this morning.
Another outage in the southern part of Haliburton is affecting over 700 homes in the Gooderham and Ursa areas.
