That is when Canadian Blood Services comes back to the Haliburton Legion looking for donations that can save lives. According to Territory Manager Andra Stancu, the target for the first two clinics this year was 72 pints of blood, and 79 were collected in January and 87 in March. Stancu adds the target for June’s clinic has been increased to 90 pints because of the success of the Haliburton clinic. Stancu adds there is always a need for blood donations. She adds that someone with leukemia could need as many as eight pints of blood per week. If you want to sign up for June’s clinic, click here.
