Newly re-elected PC MPP for Haliburton Kawaratha Lakes, Brock, Laurie Scott says she is keen to get to work. She is ready to deliver on promises made at the doors of local constituents, asking for a reprieve from high hydro and gas rates and a lower tax rate.
Although this will be her fifth term, it is the first time that Scott will represent the riding as part of a sitting government, and she says it will great to work with that kind of influence. And she points to the work done by leader Doug Ford in winning in such a big fashion.
It was an emphatic victory for Scott who won by over double of her nearest rival Zac Miller who managed 15,209 for the NDP.
