Fire chief urging residents to only call with emergencies

Dysart Fire Chief Mike Iles is asking that citizens only call 911 in an emergency.

The fire departments have received an influx of calls because the smell of smoke is in the air.  Iles says that the fire ban is still being enforced and the smell of smoke is most likely from the fires burning to the north of Haliburton County.

Iles urges people to investigate the source of the smoke smell if it can be done safely before calling 911.
