SIRCH and HHOA are teaming up for charity

This Sunday will see the annual monarch butterfly release.

This event, put on by the Haliburton Highlands Outdoors Association and SIRCH Community services, is a fundraiser for the fish restocking program, and a variety of children’s programs SIRCH puts on.

During Monarchs and Music, people will be given the chance to release butterflies to raise money. Although the gate cost is $15 anyone looking to release can purchase them for $30 a butterfly.

The event begins at 11 am and goes until 7 pm with the release of the butterflies happening at 3:30. following the release attendees can expect a full concert featuring seven local acts. There will be a shuttle from the high school to the hatchery on Gelert Road starting at 10:30 am.
