Parks Ontario closed several locations

Ontario Parks is asking people hoping to go to the parks to check if they are open before heading out.

Park officials announced on Twitter today that several of their parks will be closed for the time being. The cause for the closures is reportedly due to the various forest fires in Ontario, some of which are too close to the parks to allow civilians to stay in them.

Currently, Algonquin Park, Kawartha Highlands Park and Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park are all open for county residents to enjoy but there is a total fire ban in place, including fires for warmth and cooking.
