Haliburton Highlands OPP lay 24 charges in span of a week

The Haliburton Highlands Ontario Provincial Police responded to 126 calls for service over the past week.

These investigations included eight alarms, four animal complaints, one bail violations, three break and enters, two assaults, one assist ambulance, six domestic disputes, two frauds, one harassment, one landlord/tenant problem, one liquor license act, two neighbour disputes, five noise complaints, two mental health act, one property related, 13 non-emergency 911 calls, 13 police assistance/information calls, two shoplifts, four thefts/mischiefs, 16 traffic complaints, three traffic hazards, one trespass to property act and other police related calls for service.

24 criminal charges were laid during the same period of time regarding the bail violations, one assault, one shoplift and three domestic dispute investigations. Officers also responded to 15 motor vehicle collisions where four involved striking deer. Officers conducted six RIDE programs in the area as well.
