When Dysart et al Council meets later this week, they are set to decide on a replacement fire truck for the municipality.
Fire Chief Mike Iles is looking to replace Truck #2 which was built in 1999, with a newer model. The options presented to the council were a truck costing $438,391.91 or a more expensive truck with a $457,400.00 price tag.
It was recommended that council go forward with the cheaper of the two options. Not included in the cost was applicable taxes and the cost of installing the appropriate radio equipment which would add $3,199.87 to the final price.
The lower cost truck is built to order and would feature a 12-litre engine and would be delivered upon completion and inspection. The Municipality of Dysart et al would not be buying a new firetruck until next year.
