The fire ban is officially being lifted in Haliburton County.
Fire officials say due to the heavy rainfall that hit the area a few days ago, the conditions are right to allow night-time small fires once again. Officials say despite the rain, there are still very dry conditions in the county.
Because of this, daytime burning is still prohibited and if you are planning on lighting a campfire at night you must be near it at all times. Make sure you have something like a bucket of water nearby to put it out quickly.
