The Minden Hills Terry Fox Run will be joined by Terry’s older brotherĀ Fred.
Fox will be an honorary guest at the 25th Minden Terry Fox Run.
Council unanimously approved moving the flag raising ceremony to accommodateĀ the arrival of Fred Fox. The flag raising will be done on the 8th of SeptemberĀ and the Terry Fox Flag will fly in front of the municipal office until after the fundraising run.
Diane Peacock, organizer of the Terry Fox RunĀ in Minden Hills is hopeful they will be able to surpass the $19,000 that was raised in 2011. According to Peacock, Minden Hills has been participating in the run since 1994 when the Terry FoxĀ Foundation issued a call-to-arms nationwide.
After 24 years the Minden Terry Fox Run has raised $280,063. and using census data from 2016, the community raised roughly $3 a person during last years run.
