Haliburton County Paramedic Services are still waiting on funding to move forward with the community paramedics program. Earlier this summer, Director of EMS, Craig Jones told council they wanted to start a program that would have off-duty paramedics go to people’s homes for consultation. Funding was postponed with the June election and Jones says he hasn’t heard anything yet. Councilor Liz Danielson said she attended an information session at last week’s AMO conference and it sounds like the province is on board and funding will go forward. EMS is still waiting for word on the funding and will move forward with the program when it comes through.
