Algonquin Park Hosting Research Groups with the Public

To celebrate itsĀ 125th year of operation, Algonquin Park is hosting a series of research groups called Bio-Blitzes.

The series of events stems from the fact that for 70 years now, biologists have been using the ecosystem in the park as a tool for their research. AccordingĀ to park officials, there have been roughlyĀ 1,800 research papers published based on findings within the park.

Although some of the events have passed, people interested are invited to go to the park August 10th for the next edition of the Bio-Blitz series. The remaining Bio-Blitzes will happen every Friday until August 31st.

The August 10th one will be dedicated to studying plant life in the park, and there is no cost beyond acquiringĀ a day pass for your vehicle.
