The Haliburton County Paramedic Service has received its 90-day notification of an Ambulance Service Review.
The Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care Emergency Health Services Branch has told the County Paramedic service that in October they will be reviewing their service, for the purpose of re-certifying their ability to operate an ambulance.
Under the Ambulance Act, there is a stipulation that no one can operate an ambulance unless they are certified to do so. Haliburton County Paramedic Service has been in operation since September of 2000 and the current certification is set to expire September 19th, 2019.
October 16th to 18th the Paramedics will be reviewed by the Ambulance Service Review team.
