Council approves selling Gelert Hall property

Minden Hills staff have been talking to their lawyer, and it looks like the sale of Gelert Hall is moving forward. Environment and Property Operations Manager Ivan Ingram told council yesterday that an agreement would have to be made that an inspection is done before the buyer uses the building.

Councilor Larry Clarke was hoping the committee would take interest in buying the building, but those discussions haven’t happened yet. Councilor Brigitte Gall wanted to amend the decision so the committee could be consulted first. But Reeve Barb Reid said those conversations couldn’t happen until council approves moving forward with putting the Hall up for sale.

Council unanimously approved putting the property up for sale.
