Food for Kids gears up for another year

Food for Kids Haliburton is gearing up for another season, and Coordinator Aaron Walker says they’re off to a good start.  “We’ve been lucky enough to have some huge supporters this year,” says Walker. “I can’t say that we have all the funding we need for the year, but certainly enough to get it off to a great start.”

Walker says the program needs about 75 thousand dollars a year to bring breakfast and snacks every day to elementary schools in Haliburton County. He says they’re always looking for sustainable funding to help the program. You can donate directly to one of the elementary schools in Haliburton County to help fund their program, or you can donate to Food for Kids as a whole, through Point in Time on Eastern Avenue in Minden.

Walker also says they’re actively looking for volunteers to help for about an hour in the mornings.

For more information on donating or volunteering, you can contact Aaron at [email protected] or 705-455-2358.
