Rainfall warning in effect

A rainfall warning is in effect.

Environment Canada says Haliburton, Minden, Oxtongue Lake, Fort Irwin, and Haliburton County can all expect heavy rain today.

Between 30 and 50 mm is expected to fall as showers and thunderstorms move into the area.

The agency says the wet stuff will arrive later this morning or early in the afternoon and should last through the evening.

You should be on the lookout for flash flooding and pooling water on the roads, as well as flooding in low-lying areas and washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

The My Haliburton Now newsroom is keeping an eye on the storm and will keep you updated.
