OPP arrest Minden Hills man for public mischief

A Minden Hills resident has been arrested for public mischief after OPP responded to numerous calls about males wandering around with guns in the area. On Saturday, City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a 911 call at the Highlands Cinema in Kinmount. Officers couldn’t find the individuals when they arrived on scene.

Haliburton Highlands OPP received a similar call later that night about a male with a gun at the Dominion Hotel. Officers were unable to locate anyone with guns or any threats to public safety.

OPP were able to locate and arrest the male responsible for these incidents of false calls and others dating back to August 2013 in both Haliburton County and City of Kawartha Lakes.

The 34 year-old has been charged with 11 counts of public mischief and one count of uttering threats. He was held for a bail hearing at the Lindsay Courtroom today.
