The Kennisis Lake Cottagers Association echoed the thoughts of the Coalition of Haliburton Property Owners Associations that everyone should vote.

Both organizations stressed the importance of voting even if you are just a seasonal resident. President of the KLCOA Deb Wratschko says that they will be hosting a ward four all candidates meeting to help inform members of the KLCOA on the candidates in the October 22nd election. Wratschko says, “hopefully, our goal with that is to get a larger portion of our population to actually get out and vote”

“There are different things that are issues for us,” says Wratschko when asked about the importance of seasonal residents voting.  She adds that they have been trying to “educate” their members on voting and the impact it has on their lake and across Dysart et al.

Wratschko says that there are misconceptions associated with voting by seasonal residents.
