TLDSB reaching halfway point of five-year strategic plan

With the school year here, the Trillium Lakelands District School Board wants to remind you of their Strategic Plan.

The plan, which is in the third year of a five year plan, focuses on three major areas: innovation and collaboration for all, supporting the well being of all and valuing the strength of everyone’s voice.

Larry Hope, the Director of Education for TLDSB, says that he is pleased with the progress of the plan so far, saying that it has been “highly successful.” Hope put a lot of emphasis on the idea of gathering people’s voices.

Hope says “we’ve entered what I would call a new era in education, and that is that of gathering voices from as many different places as we can,” adding that “has really helped inform the work that we do in supporting things like our student and staff well-being.”

Hope says that the strategic plan has created some “very innovative new practices around technology.” He also says that the strategic plan has made great progress in supporting initiatives around mental health and overall well-being.

The idea of including gathering voices in their strategic plan was something that the school board felt was necessary. “At the end of this five-year plan, it is very unlikely that wellbeing will disappear from the radar,” Director Hope said when asked about where they want to be at the end of the strategic plan.
