Haliburton Highlands Land Trust seeks new board members

Haliburton Highlands Land Trust is looking for a few new members for their Board of Directors, and Executive Director Larry O’Connor says they are taking on some exciting projects.

There is currently one seat vacant on the board, and O’Connor says about three members are coming up to the end of their term. They’re doing succession planning and looking for people to come forward so there is time to mentor and get people involved in what the Land Trust is doing.

The Turtle Immortality Project will be going on for the next two years, and O’Connor says they are expecting to see more land gifted to them for the Eco-Gift Canada program. The Land Trust has four properties that have been donated to them for ecological or environmental reasons and they take care of maintaining them in compliance with the regulations.

Anyone interested in getting involved or receiving more information about becoming a board member can go to the Haliburton Highland Land Trust website.
