A new project to address food security for seniors is coming to Haliburton County. Community Care, SIRCH, Dysart et al and Haliburton County FoodNet have announced a new project called Apple Sauce for Seniors.
They’re looking for the community’s help to provide apple trees, or help pick apples. They can be dropped off at the Haliburton United Church on September 29. They will be processed into apple sauce and distributed to Community Care clients through the Meals on Wheels program along with SIRCH Community Services’ Community Kitchen meal programs.
