He says Doug Ford is closing in on his campaign promise to save Ontarians at the pump.“I understand the campaign promise was 10 cents for diesel, 10 cents for gasoline,” says McTeague. “He’s two-thirds of the way on diesel and almost halfway on gasoline.”Some gas stations in the Haliburton area may take a bit of time to catch up with the price drop.McTeague says we can thank the province for scrapping cap and trade. But, he warns the reprieve will likely be short-lived as Ottawa plans to impose its own carbon tax program in the New Year.
