Project Looks to Get Donated Musical Instruments to Archie Stouffer Students

Minden school kids are being given a chance to get gently used instruments.

Archie Stouffer Elementary School is one of the three schools that has been for the Three Rs Music Program.

The Trillium Lakelands District School Board says that the program is designed to get donations of gently used instruments from the community.  The instruments will be refurbished before ending up in the hands of students.

Music Canada Cares is the not-for-profit organization behind the new program.  Beth Wilson, a music consultant with the TLDSB, says that the project would not have been possible without funding from the Ontario government.

Wilson says that all kinds of instruments will be accepted but she says that students in the region have asked for clarinets, ukeleles, trumpets and flutes to complete their music program.

Any gently used instrument can be dropped off to the Second Time Around Store in Minden before September 29th. Arrangements can be made to pick up your instrument before that day as well.
