Autumn starts showing in Haliburton as cold weather prompts leaf change

The fall colours are starting to show in Haliburton.

According to Ontario Travel’s Fall Colour Progression Report, the leaf change across the county should be at 20 per cent, meaning there are small pockets of colour starting to show. Tourism officials say the sudden push in colour change is likely due to the colder weather which hit Muskoka this week.

Some of the suggested lookout points to get the best view of these autumn colours are Buttermilk Falls and the very popular Dorset Tower. Algonquin Highlands officials suggest visiting the tower during the week to avoid the busy weekend rush.

If you’re planning on taking a fall colour tour you can find out more about the views in Muskoka here and in Parry Sound here.
