Haliburton County is Looking for a Trio of Plow Operators

With winter almost here, Haliburton County is looking to hire three “casual plow operators.”

If you have your AZ license and the ability to use heavy equipment you can apply for one of the jobs.

According to the job posting, there is no set schedule, but whoever gets hired will be doing shift work. The morning shift is from 4:00am to 12:30pm or the second shift is from 12:30pm to 9:30pm.  However, plow operators are on-call 24 hours a day for things like emergency situations.

Aside from the removal of snow itself, county staff say that the other duties include maintaining the equipment, flagging traffic at work areas and the spreading of gravel or sand for traction on the roads. There is no start date or pay listed on the posting.  You can find more information about becoming a plow operator at the county’s website by clicking here.
