NewsParents invited to weigh in on provincial education matters SHARE ON: James Bowler, contributor, Tuesday, Oct. 2nd, 2018The Ford Government is now taking your thoughts on the future of Ontario’s education. On Friday, online consultation was opened allowing parents in the province to weigh in on some heavy education topics. This includes sex-ed, math and science, literacy and standardized testing. The sex-ed program had been updated by the Liberals to include new topics like consent and LGBTQ relationships, but was quickly pulled from schools when the Conservatives took office. Premier Ford said he wanted to provide parents an opportunity to weigh in on what their kids are learning about in sex-ed. For now a 90s version of the curriculum is being used as a placeholder.Parents can submit an anonymous online form, but an online survey and telephone town halls are reportedly coming soon. The consultation process will run until December 15th.
