Minden Hospital Gets a New X-Ray Machine

The Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation has a new piece of equipment.

The Minden Hospital now has an “x-ray room on wheels.” The portable x-ray machine was the focus of a fundraising campaign put on by the foundation.

President and CEO of HHHS, Carolyn Plummer, says the new machine is “state-of-the-art,” adding that it “contributes to our growing strength as a Rural Health Hub.” The machine itself is powered by a “wireless digital radiology detector.” It has a fully automatic collapsible column allowing the machine to shrink to just over four feet tall.

Donations from Dr. Lenora and the late Charles Butler are what made getting the machine possible.

Lisa Tompkins, the HHHS Foundation Executive Director, says “we are extremely grateful for this leadership donation, and for Lenora’s vision to contribute to the highest quality of health care possible for patients in the Haliburton Highlands.”
