Dysart is looking to hire a new building inspector.

The municipality made the announcement yesterday that they are hiring an inspector that would report directly to the Chief Building Official, Karl Korpela.

According to the municipality, the job requires you to help review and issue septic or building permits. As well you will be needed to perform inspections as needed. Whoever gets hired will also have to issue occupancy permits after all the required information is collected and given to the Municipal Property Assesment Corporation.

The inspector will also have to give out zoning and by-law infractions and address any comment or question given in person or over the phone or email.

To qualify for the position, you have to have three years of relevant experience, fully qualified by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and experience in the building trade, as well as working knowledge of the planning, municipal and building code acts.

The municipality says that the working hours would be a traditional Monday to Friday, but you may be called in on occasion. As a building inspector you will have to work outside at times, sometimes in bad weather.

Anyone that qualifies is being asked to email their cover letter and resume to info@dysartetal.ca before 12:00pm on October 16th.
