Gordon Shepherd, a resident from Havelock has sent out letters to request support from Haliburton County. He’s asking for government funding to provide transportation to people who need dialysis. Community Care Haliburton has submitted a letter of support saying their volunteer drivers do not get reimbursed for driving seven clients from Haliburton County to Peterborough and Lindsay. In their letter, they report every year, their volunteers spend over $56,000 in transportation costs. County council recently voted to support Shepherd in his request to the Province.
