If you use the Rail Trail to get around, you will need to plan a detour.
Haliburton County staff announced today that a portion of the Rail Trail will be closed for culvert replacement this week.
According to the county, the section of the trail between Gould Crossing Road and the Fowler Pit access is going to be closed until the job is finished. The county says they are replacing the culvert as part of a bigger project being put on by the Haliburton Highlands Outdoors Association to restore fish to the creek that runs through the culvert.
The work is expected to start tomorrow. If there are no setbacks, the job should be done by Friday.
