A person has been charged for theft following an incident at the hospital.
The Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the O.P.P. responded to call at the hospital of someone trying to steal the drug. Staff Sergeant Lianne Spong says that officers arrived at the hospital, arrested and charged a 24-year-old with theft under $1,000.
An early report of the incident from the Facebook Page Peterborough Scanner Feed suggested that the suspect was seen by staff, drinking and smoking marijuana. Sargent Spong says officers arrested the man with little issue, adding that the report from the Facebook page was inaccurate. Spong also says that it is possible that the person was under the influence of something but could not confirm that he had been smoking or drinking during the incident.
