Haliburton County Breaks Another Cold Weather Record

For the second night in a row, Haliburton County broke a record for the coldest night.

Residents in Haliburton County were feeling the cold last night as the temperature dropped as low as -27.

The previous record for the coldest night was set in 1932 when the temperature dropped to -23.3. According to Environment Canada, last nights temp was colder than the average for November 22nd by 23 degrees.

This was the second night in a row that 2018 broke the record for the coldest night in the past 109 years.

Temperatures in the county are expected to be closer to seasonal norms, the forecast is expected to only drop to -10 with the wind chill.

Environment Canada’s records show that the warmest November 22nd on record was 1916 when it got as warm as 16.7.
