Calls for Dysart’s Fire Department are up compared to last year.

According to Fire Chief Mike Iles, the calls for service for the Dysart et al Fire Department are up by 49 compared to last year’s year to date calls.

Iles explained to Dysart council earlier this week, he believes the call volume is up because of the fire ban in place over the summer.

July of this year had 69 calls for service with 18 of them being fire complaints. According to the report detailing the calls, July was the highest month for calls so far this year.

The report says that October had 29 calls, compared to 22 last year.
