Local home and auto insurance company The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group today announced that they are making a substantial donation to the Haliburton Highlands Hospital Auxiliary as part of their ongoing C.A.R.E. committee donations for 2018. In addition to The Commonwell’s donation, local insurance broker and long-time Commonwell partner Floyd Hall Limited will join the directed donation, for a total of $18,000 between the two companies.
The funds will be used to purchase specific and urgently needed medical equipment including an “echo stretcher” that is used for stroke/heart attack victims. Patients placed on this stretcher have easy access to all necessary medical hook ups. It greatly reduces potential medical issues when being transferred. Funds will also be used to purchase two new hospital beds for the Haliburton site.
