Local businesses are being encouraged to get involved in the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Winter may be a ways off from finishing, but the federal government is already taking applications for the Canada Summer Jobs Program. This program stems from the Youth Employment Strategy and, gives non-profit organizations, as well as public or private sector organizations with 50 or fewer employees wage subsidies to hire someone aged 15 to 30.
The government says the objectives of the 2019 edition of the program focuses on providing job experience to youth, responding to local priorities in the job market and provide youth opportunities to increase their employment skills.
People applying to the program are encouraged to do so by using Employment and Social Development Canada’s Grants and Contributions Online Services. Which gives applicants the ability to track their application and submit information and proper paperwork through the services.
The deadline for organizations to apply is January 25th.
