Parents in Haliburton can track immunization records online

Parents in Haliburton County track their children’s immuzation records online through the health unit.

With immunizing children required in Ontario, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Health Unit has made it possible for parents to keep track of their children’s records.

EHealth Ontario is a web service that gives parents the ability to record, report and track the shots needed by their kids, and when. According to the health unit, any students that do not have their immunizations up to date face suspension.

HKPR encourages the use of the service could eliminate the use of paper just to track children’s records. As well EHealth is designed so parents can report child vaccinations online to the health unit, which is required by the immunization of School Pupils Act as well as the Child Care and Early Years Act.

HKPR says “reporting immunizations helps to keep everyone protected from serious diseases that can be easily spread in schools and throughout the community.”
